Imagine the tantalizing aroma of fresh peaches wafting through your kitchen as you embark on this delightful dessert adventure. It’s a perfect choice for those scorching summer days when the temperature soars above 30 degrees Celsius. While chocolate might not be the best option in such heat, the abundance of luscious fruits opens up a world of possibilities.

However, amidst all the berry-centric treats that have graced my blog in recent weeks, my husband gently suggested a temporary break from the berry madness. “Take a step back from berries, at least for a couple of weeks,” he proposed. And he had a point. Out of the last seven posts on my blog, six featured recipes with strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries. Perhaps I got a bit carried away.

So, this time, I decided to create something that my husband adores, without a hint of berries. That’s when I remembered a recipe that had left an everlasting impression on him—the Apple Dumplings. The memory of Darko’s joy and the sweet kiss he planted on my cheek after relishing those dumplings was etched in my mind. It was clear that this would be my final solution, albeit with a twist. Instead of apples, I opted for fresh peaches since my kitchen was overflowing with their juicy abundance.

Here is a list of ingredients for Crescent Roll Peach Dumplings:

  • 1 1/2 (8 ounce) cans crescent rolls
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup orange soda
  • 2-3 fresh peaches

These ingredients will help you create a delicious batch of Peach Dumplings. Enjoy

Of course, I couldn’t simply repeat an older recipe. My Peach Dumplings had to undergo a transformation. Firstly, I altered the shape from crescent rolls to something a little different, adding a touch of uniqueness. Secondly, instead of using 7UP soda as in the previous version, I opted for Fanta, infusing a delightful effervescence into the mix. And that was it—a new and improved rendition was born.

In just around 30 minutes, the enticing aroma of Peach Dumplings filled the air, immediately capturing my husband’s attention. “Wow, Dumplings! Vera, you are the queen,” he exclaimed, unable to contain his excitement. He couldn’t wait for the dumplings to cool down before devouring them.

“Well, this is great. But…these aren’t apples!” my gourmand husband remarked.

“Of course not. They’re peaches,” I replied with a smile.

“Never mind, they look even more delicious than the last ones,” Darko concluded, completely immersed in the scrumptious dumplings.

“And do you remember what you did the first time you tried them?” I playfully teased Darko.

“Well, of course I do,” he replied, leaning in to kiss me on each cheek. Inadvertently, I ended up with peach smudges all over my face, but it was clear that it was done intentionally.
